You still compete with Home Depot for “products and materials,” but let’s be honest: That’s for DIY customers and general contractors, and neither of them pays a fair wage anyway. 


If a local homeowner or business is looking for remodeling, gutters, HVAC, plumbing, etc… They search locally, check out reviews, visit a landing page or sales page, and call or fill out a form. 


That hasn’t changed.



Website Leads Trump Traffic

If you have 50 website visitors, you’ll never grow, but you don’t need 2000 website visitors. 


Our customers, Global Gutters, AD Green Gutters, ADS Sheet Metal, and Mapt Automotive, all have 500-1200 monthly visitors and get 25-75 leads. They make $10k to $100k monthly from the website leads they get (industry/service dependent).

Google Maps has been and always will be the king of leads. Now, with more Google “stuff” at the top, Google Maps is even more critical. 


When a homeowner or business needs fast help with a new installation or repair, they don’t want to wait for a national call center to coordinate with their local branch… they want to talk to an owner or manager, get a quick quote, and decide. 


The catch is that you don't get called if you’re not in the top 3 or 10 of Google Maps for 10-70 local search terms.


You are invisible if you don’t have a lot of reviews, have a bad review score, or don’t get reviews often.


If your website is optimized to perfection, your Google Maps rankings and leads will grow. If it’s not, Google penalizes you. You’re better off not having a website than having a bad one.

Yes, blogging will soon begin to die, but you never get a customer from a blog, so be real! And it won’t die completely; your great blogs will rank in AI Overviews as Google will still need to show proof of where they got it. 


The shift in website page building and blogging is all about locality and subject matter. Don’t write blogs or pages unless they will impact your local market.
